plain jane

It was extremely COLD today, and it didn't help that the winds were really strong either. I really did not know how I had survived walking in the streets. I went back to school today (after the much needed winter break), and was very much frustrated with choosing my outfit. It was about 20 degrees outside, but I knew that once I step foot inside the school, it would be about 70 degrees inside the building. I was really nervous about going outside in just ONE coat, but alas, it surprisingly kept me warm! Also, I have never been a fan of black and brown, but I guess this outfit turned out pretty cool.

B L U E

Knit sweater - H&M
Button up collar shirt - Ann Taylor
Coat - Zara

I'm not one to enjoy the cold. Sometimes, it gets really difficult to get out of bed to do what you need to do just because it's too cold outside. I start school tomorrow, and here in New York, the temperature has been atrocious! 18 degrees at 3 in the afternoon, can you believe that? I don't even know how I still get myself look decent enough to take outfit pictures for the blog. I guess I should just take advantage of this weather by taking out the coats I have long been itching to wear the past few months.

Stay warm everyone!

C L O S E R

Turtleneck top - Vintage
White faux leather jacket  - Forever 21
Pants - Urban Outfitters
Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell

These pictures were taken by my father before it got really cold here in New York. I didn't want to put it up at that time, because I was frustrated with how the pictures turned out. We took these photos at 4 in the afternoon, so the sun was at its peak, and the lighting outside was really bad. I couldn't edit the photos properly, so I didn't put them up on the blog. But today, as I was looking through my photos, I decided to edit these and voilĂ ! They turned out pretty nice.

Inspiration

I'm currently inspired with long coats, knits, monochromatic and minimalist fashion. I think each picture here just says "chic and effortless". This is why I've been eyeing long coats and knits for a while now. The combination of the two never fails to turn out so beautiful.

Disclaimer: I got all the pictures from Tumblr. If you know of anyone who owns any of these pictures, please let me know so I can credit them properly.

White Noise

Nirvana Shirt - Urban Outfitters
Yin Yang Leggings - Forever 21
Faux leather vest - Forever 21
Green jacket - Urban Renewal (Urban Outfitters)
Shoes - Urban Outfitters
Beanie - GAME NY APPAREL

Today was extremely cold so I had to layer a lot. Even though it felt like it was about 5 degrees , I took advantage of the beautiful snow outside. I seriously love snow, I just dislike the fact that it's really hard to travel around because of all the train delays.
Anyways, I looove the color scheme of this outfit, and the beanie just pulled it all together. Plus, it kept me warm! I think the only head wear I like are beanies since my hairstyle does not allow me to look nice in other hats. ):

This song is just perfect for today's weather! I couldn't stop listening. I hope you enjoy it too!

Disclosure

Top - Unif
Tights - Urban Outfitters
Shoes - Urban Outfitters
Coat - Vintage

I never knew that dark brown could look pretty good with an all-black outfit. I didn't know what outfit to wear with this coat first other than the plaid dress I recently posted on here. So, I decided to experiment and came up with this outfit! I can't really complain, I think it turned out pretty cool.

Anyways, today was pretty warm until it hit 5 pm. I thought I was going to turn into a human ice cube. The air was seriously so cold, it felt as though it was biting you. I think that's what I get for wearing tights in the winter. ):

Black and Gray

Jersey Shirt - Urban Outfitters
Leather Jacket - Urban Outfitters
Sweatpants - Zara
Boots - Dr. Martens

I've never been the type to wear sweatpants or yoga pants unless I'm going to the gym, but this pair is literally perfect! It's so comfortable and stylish, and I never thought sweatpants could look so nice with a leather jacket and combat boots! I think i'm coming back to Zara to get another pair... maybe 2?

I'm currently obsessing over Disclosure! The beat is just impeccable. I've actually made their album my playlist for when I'm working out. Just amazing!

Drapey Wool Jacket

Coat - D collection by Troy Smith (Urban Outfitters)
Faux leather leggings - Topshop
Accessories - H&M
Bag - Prada

I'm in love with this coat - from the drape to the faux leather panels. Nothing like a wool coat to make an outfit look extra chic! I think I'll be overusing this coat the whole winter and spring, so get ready to see it more often in my blog. Also, I'm really loving this all-black ensemble.. maybe it's the weather? I don't know, but I've recently been finding myself putting together all-black outfits.
